When I first moved to Berlin, in the autumn of 2013, I contacted the Swedish newspaper I used to write freelance articles for, Norran. “Could I possible continue writing from Berlin?” I thought, Berlin is a cultural city and hugely popular at the moment, maybe they would find that interesting too?

No. They didn’t. But if I could find people – from Skellefteå – currently living in Berlin, I was free to write about them. Preferably people with artistic passions.

Alrighty! Very soon after, I stumbled across Theodor Johansson, whose sister is a friend of mine. He happened to live in Berlin and wanted to pursue a career as an artist.

His newest “thing” was sewing, and Kaffe Fassett was one of his role models. I asked him for an interview and that was that.
