Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you can choose to save your name, e-mail address and website address as cookies for your convenience. This means you don’t have to fill in the same information the next time you leave a comment. The cookies are valid for one year.

Contact Form

We save information from contact forms for a certain period of time for customer service purposes. The information collected will never be used for marketing.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the information displayed in the comment form as well as the visitor’s IP address and user agent string to be able to detect spam messages. This means that an anonymised string is created based on your e-mail address (also called hash value) and it may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine if you are registered there. The privacy policy for the Gravatar service is available at automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be displayed publicly, along with your comment

If you write a comment, the comment and its meta data will be saved indefinitely. The reason for this is that we need to be able to find and approve follow-up comments automatically, and not put them back in the queue for a review.

For users who register on our website, we also save the personal information they enter in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal data at any time (except changing their username). The site administrators can also view and edit this information.

Embedded Content From Other Sites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking from third parties and monitor your interaction with said embedded content, including tracking your interaction with this embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to the website in question.

Analysis Of Information

For analysis of the traffic to the blog and to detect spam, we use Jetpack. Here you can read their privacy policy: jetpack.com/support/privacy

Your Data, Your Rights

If you have an account or have written any comments on this website, you can request an export file with the personal information we have about you, including all information you have given us. You can also request that we delete all personal information we have about you. This does not include any information that we have to save for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Comments from visitors may be checked via an automated service to find spam, eg Jetpack (see above).

Akismet (spam)

We collect information about visitors who comment on websites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the user configures Akismet for the website, but usually includes the commentator’s IP address, user agent, referrer and website URL (along with other information provided directly by the commenter such as its name, username, email address and the comment itself).

This information is taken from the WordPress guide for privacy policy.
