Saying Goodbye to SIXT

Since 2018 I have been working for SIXT rent a car as a part of the editorial team in Berlin. In March this year we got the news that our department was closing. In this post I want to summarise the almost 5 years and say goodbye.

We’ve been a team of ten people, 8 team members and 2 managers. I was the only one working part-time, but my teammates looked out for me. I’d like to thank them for their support over the years.

My job was initially to manage the content of the Scandinavian and Finnish websites. I also took care of the Swedish so-called SIXT Magazine. All of us editors blogged in our own languages about travelling, cars and anything else that might interest the SIXT customers. That was the more creative part of the job.

Over the years I ended up ordering and uploading content for other countries as well. Especially during the pandemic. In my daily work I came into contact with Gonzalo Suarez at Key Content. Our mail conversations were insane, but so much fun. They always made my day. Thank you, King of the Ocean!

Our team ended up doing translations and localisations, for example translating the newsletters into our respective languages. That’s how I got to know my dear colleague and friend, Kirsten Arends. She was then part of the CRM team and we hit it off. One of these days we will meet in person and drink that beer. Cheers Kirsten and thank you for the laughs!

Now the orange circle is closed.
